Peaches Geldof is clearly dillusional and I love Nylon magazine and cannot even begin to express my disappointment in their decision to employ her as a columnist. But today she has decided to share more pearls of wisdom with the world through her second column for the style magazine. One of the key aspects of journalism is research; It's the base of all pieces. On this basis I would like to suggest that Peaches looks up what 'fashion' is as clearly she currently doesn't think that it includes Vivienne Westwood, grunge (created by Marc Jacobs) or hippie chic (e.g. boho sported by nearly every British celeb under 25 you can name in the past 10 years not to mention Matthew Williamson).
"Most people who know me know I don’t follow fashion. I mean, I just dyed the tips of my hair blue for God’s sake. I hate stars who look totally overstyled, like Victoria Beckham; give me Courtney Love, with her babydoll nighties and ripped fishnet tights, any day. For me, fashion is about pushing boundaries. Vivienne Westwood once told me that people who aren’t creative or have no love for art don’t dress up, I asked her why people should and she replied simply, “Because it’s fun.” Sage advice. Here are some trends I’m looking forward to in the coming year."
Further highlights include, "Fortunately, this [hippie chic] is still very fashionable," and "Grunge is back. These are comfortable, cozy, and you can take one right off your old man’s back." Bob Geldof - grunge legend.
There are some great comments underneath too showing love to young Peaches:
"MARIA 11/20/2008: i don't follow fashion my ass! if she didn't follow fashion she would have a piece of string around her forehead or be wearing these 60's style clothes! correct me if i'm wrong, but these things ARE in fashion nowadays aren't they?"
"MEGHAN 11/20/2008: -3 stars for peaches claiming she doesn't follow fashion...seriously? who are you trying to impress? nylon is a fashion magazine, you know, and you are writing for them..."
"SHANNA 11/20/2008: The music options seemed sound but the girl hasn't got a clue about fashion!"
"PEACHESISTEDIOUS 11/24/2008: OHMIGOD you dyed your hair blue! How... 2001! Seriously how do you manage to stay ahead in fashion? Well, by stealing stuff mainly I guess, staying ahead of the cops."
"BELLAROSA 11/24/2008: "and dont lisent to the haters what do they know? " Well we know she is a bellend that cannot write, doesn't know music and least of all knows fashion. FYI she is a bit of a joke here in the UK. Does Nylon know that? That you employd someone who has as much street cred as the crew of the Hills? Plus we all know she has loose fingers, is rude and seen a sa spoilt rich kid."
Oh I need to stop. So compulsive though!

Seeing as the credit crunch is affecting everything, we decided to indulge in a classic British treat of tinned dessert! The chocolate sponge with chocolate sauce was boiled (in the tin) for 35 minutes. It is possible to make the amazing Heinz snack in less time in the microwave but 194 were keeping it old school today.
I love shoes. That may seem like a cliche but I honestly don't think I could own too many pairs of shoes. I love nothing more than spending a day going from department store to department store admiring the latest foot candy. I even check out the latest Louboutins practically drooling and being completely unable to buy anything within a £200 radius of that price tag.
However, despite my love for shoes I'm 5'8" and have no desire to be the size of a supermodel. So imagine my distress this season when every single shoe shop (or High Street store) is filled with 4" plus heels?! Just last week on the catwalks of Milan many models fell victim to the towering heel height (particularly at Prada) so why are we forcing ourselves in to such painful clothing situations?
The Observer today discusses the new heel height suggesting that shoes are the new status symbol (replacing the now WAG-tastic it-bag) and they are truly testing womens dedication to fashion. But it's not very realistic to expect women to walk in 4 inch heels on a daily basis, is it? Surely A&E on a Saturday night will no longer be packed with overly drunk women getting their stomach pumped but rather with women suffering from awful ankle injuries?
For now, I settled for a modest pair of black patent t-bar heels (Faith, £60) which may seem a little sensible but at least my ankles will remain in tact.
This week opened with a very exciting moment when I got to interview the Legend that is John, ahem, Legend. He was performing at the Hilfiger Sessions at Porchester Hall alongside The Metros (who stunk of booze and fags and resembled a mix of The Mystery Jets and Babyshambles), Zarif (I predict BIG things) and Steve Appleton (who will be loved by Mothers and young girls across the nation).
I caught up with John Legend before the show for a quick chat about his love for free things and being impressed by Zarif. He was smaller than I imagined (but then celebs always are) and very chilled out. He seemed happy to talk but didn't act like performing at this venue was the biggest deal ever. His actual performance was amazing and so full of energy. Even if you didn't like him I think you would have enjoyed it. He was joined on stage towards the end by Zarif (who I also interviewed and is super nice). Daisy Lowe hosted the event so she called on support from Jaime Winstone and Alfie Allen (who literally couldn't stop touching each other), Will from Blondelle (Daisy's ex...controversial) and Amy from PPQ.
I didn't go to that many London Fashion Week parties but this Rock and Republic party at the Haymarket was pretty special. How amazingly 80s is it to have a party round a pool? Sadly we were not allowed in though, despite the temptation!
Everyone drank wine, champagne and mixers whilst listening to the sounds of MGMT and Madonna. Oh also I met my favourite person ever. I wanted to take him home. if only for his perfectly threaded eyebrows!
