Getting more and more excited about going to Paris (gotta look forward to something!). We're staying at Mama Shelter which looks uber cool with its imacs and Star Wars style lamps. Will be singing this for the rest of the day (from Funny Face).
I can't help but feel like I've abandoned vox slightly and for this I apologise. I was encouraged to start this blog by CupCate — despite my protests of thinking nobody would care about random musings on my life. Unfortunately I've had an uneasy few months. You know the kind? When nothing that major or bad happens but for some reason all the little things get on top of you and you begin to reasses your entire life. I won't share the gory details right now (I'm not sure I've concluded just yet) and I'm not sure I'm at the end of the tunnel yet but I didn't want to completely ignore this blog.
Inspired by Gala's blog I'm going to try and put a positive spin on things and think of some good thinks about 2009 which I'm looking forward to...
- First and foremost is London Fashion Week. Even though strictly speaking this is a work affair I always enjoy getting involved and it will definitely give me something to focus on. It will be interesting to see how fashion changes under current economic pressures. Also, I should make the most of such fashion showcases as the future might not involve shows at all.
- Paris! I have grown to love Paris over the past few years and can't wait to get back there in April. In an ideal world I'd like to go stay there and master francais. Sadly my language skills have fallen by the wayside recently which is something I need to be more proactive about in 2009! I'm going to Paris with lovely Beth and we're going to see the Sonia Rykiel retrospective if nothing else. It will be just like in The Hills when Whitney and LC go for a Teen Vogue event.
- Moving house. Although I actually detest moving house (the packing, the unpacking and all that heavy lifting) in the words of Sheryl Crow "a change would do you good" and it will be exciting to begin a new adventure. Also, moving is always a good excuse to have a clear out which is something I've been meaning to do for a while.
- My eldest brothers wedding is taking place in August (or is at least planned to). He is marrying the Mother of his two sons (the eldest of which is now 8) and she has been edging for it forever! Even though the actual event will feel like a bit of an effort it will bring everybody together and I can't wait to see the boys dressed up in their little suits! How long will they manage without covering them in mud?!
- I am really not a winter person so am almost counting down the days until the summer will finally return. We didn't really have much sun in old Blighty last year but I'm trying to be optimistic about 2009. Hopefully there will be plenty of days where I can take my laptop to the park and lie in the sun whilst I work. Currently I am bored of wearing many layers, having dry skin and spending all of my time indoors.
- Finally, I am looking forward to the Spring collections hitting stores. Expect plenty of florals, bright colours and geometric prints and shapes.
